Happy October!

Ok, I don't really have an update.  We're all doing well.  Jack gets his evaluation with the school district on Tuesday, since he'll be 3 in November and Early Interventions only goes until 3 years old.  It's a double-edged sword if he qualifies.  It means he still needs help and the school district feels that without help, it will hinder his lifelong learning (or something like that), but at the same time, the free preschool for him even a few hours a week will be nice!  I'm kind of hoping he qualifies.  I could use a break!

Dean and I are still busy with school.  The semester is almost half over (thank goodness).

Also, in a few short weeks Jillian will be a year. I don't know where this past year went, but it's gone. Here are a few pictures of her I took this past week. She looks just like Jack to me in these pictures!  Oh, and she fell and hit her cheek.  That's why her poor cheek has a bruise on it.  :(  Lots of falls while she masters walking, which will be soon!  She's been walking everywhere she wants to be.  She barely crawls anywhere!

And she walks!!!

Ok, so she's been walking for almost a month now, but I finally got video of it.  She's pretty good for only being 11 months.  Sorry it's so grainy, not sure why it's like that (and it's sideways).  And you can hear Jack in the background saying "Gee-yan" over and over.  It's what he calls Jillian.

Pictures and a real update

It's been brought to my attention that my last post wasn't an update.  So, a month later, here are some pictures and an update.

The kids are doing well.  Jack is really coming along on his speech.  We're so proud of him.  He's doing really well knowing his colors, shapes, alphabet, numbers and counting.  He's one smart little cookie!

Jillian has started to walk.  She takes about 5 steps at a time, just enough to get her from a couch to a table, chair or Mom.  She's starting to talk as well (and sign!).  She says "Momma," "Uh-oh," and "Dadda."  She certainly is growing up fast!  And she loves to climb on everything and anything!

Here are a few recent pictures.  As soon as I take video of Jillian walking I'll post that too.

Dean's sister and her family came to visit us in August and we went shooting one day.  This is Jack out where we were shooting.

Another day we went to Wheeler Farm and this is Jack and Jillian on the tractor ride.

And we also went to the Aerospace Museum at Hill Air Force Base.

Update

I've been asked to update my blog with pictures and stuff.  Um, that was a mighty tall request!  Just kidding (sort of).  I will update with pictures when I get them off my camera.  We spent a week on the road, so we have some pictures (not too many though).

Recent pictures of the kids

Ok, I haven't been able to blog too much!  I started summer school and obviously have a lot of work to do (2nd class of Anatomy & Physiology, fun stuff).  Anyway, I hope the 2 posts in 1 day make up for it!  :)

This was take a week or two ago.  She's now up on all 4s just trying to figure out how to crawl.  She rolls any place she needs to go!

Lately she's been anticipating the flash when I take her picture, which is why she has goofy looks on her face!

Silly Jack likes playing by opening and closing the screen doors (and likes playing behind and in Grandma's plants).

"Plllleeeeaaaaasssse Daddy!"  This is Jack begging Dean for a lollipop that apparently Dean wasn't giving him fast enough!

Jillian at the park enjoying being outside

Jillian after sliding down the slide for the first time (with Mom's help, of course).  Apparently she's a fan of slides!

Look at how much fun Jack is having on that slider thing!  I have another picture of him letting go too, but Dean has a goofy expression trying to catch him, so I won't embarrass him by posting it!

Apparently he was getting tired of me taking his picture!  I love the expression on his face!

He's playing in the sand!  Not doing what it looks like!  LOL!

Jack's field trip to the police & fire station!

He did not want to stop to get his picture taken.  I'm lucky I got the one up above!

I couldn't get him to look at me!

I love this picture of him in the fire truck!  He didn't want to come out, so the fireman putting them in kind of just left him in there.  Jack had a ball!  Unfortunately there were a LOT of buttons in that truck, and if you know Jack, he's a button pusher (of many kinds LOL).  I had to try to get him not to push any of the buttons.

Jack next to the police motorcycle.  I thought it was cool they ride on Harley's.  Dean told me "duh!"  Ok, so I didn't know.

Jack in a holding cell.  Of course, he's eyeing the buttons (plus, I had to run in there so he didn't push them).  Fun times with boys!

Outside of the holding cells.

Sorry this isn't at the top, but I didn't want to redo the whole post.

Jack is in a program with Early Interventions for his speech therapy and they have a class for 2 year olds in their programs to get them to learn to interact with other children who have some sort of developmental delay.  Gets them to learn how to interact with others and helps them to become more social.  Anyway, in the summer they take field trips and these pictures are from the field trip to the South Ogden Police & Fire Station.  Jack had so much fun and I'm just glad I get to take him on his trips!  (Jillian had a good time too)

National Park Trip

During our semester breaks we decided to hit up some National Parks here in Utah we'd never been to.  We spent a few days in Zion and on the way home we went to Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef.  It was a lot of fun!  We spent my birthday in Zion, which was really fun for me.  :)  Here are some pictures.

This was on the Riverwalk.  And yes, I carried him like that for 2.2 miles.

He lead us, by running, of course!!!

Me and my babies!!!

The big girl Jillian!  She's 6 months now!!!
